NZPA correspondent Edinburgh The Christchurch cyclist, ‘ William Rastrick, was fifth in a sprint qualifying round at the Commonwealth Games velodrome yesterday. Rastrick,. aged 23, was timed at 11.683 seconds over 200 m. His New Zealand team-
mates Murray Steele and Mike Mcßedmond recorded 11.88 s and 12.382 s respectively. > ■ The Australian, Gary Neiwand, led the qualifying with 11.065 s and the Welshman, Michael Murphy, was the man facing elimination with 13.1745.
