Asylum sought

More than 300 foreigners seeking asylum, mainly from Asia and the Middle East, have arrived in West Berlin from East Berlin, establishing some sort of a record. Their nationalities were not immediately established but most were thought to be from Bangladesh, India, Iran, and Lebanon. Most fly to East Berlin aboard Soviet and other east European airliners. They then take tlje subway to the western sector, as Berlin’s special status prevents West Berlin police from turning them back. — Berlin.
