Mike Taylor makes adjustments to his sprint car at Hornby Auto Parts. He is a member of the Ellesmere Motor-Racing Club has recently set the club’s quarter-mile lap record with a time of 16.85. Valued at around $12,000, the sprint car is well placed in the modified class races which have been held during the winter at the Ellesmere Racing Club. Mr Taylor, who has been racing since he was 18, is hoping to bring the car to its peak performance for the Ruapuna Speedway next season.
