Farmers’ plight
Sir, —With the demise of another efficient farmer, it is ironic that the watersiders have lost over $lOO,OOO (July 19). With our seamen, freezing works (unions and management), they have been bleeding the farmer and New Zealand for years. Now they are hurting themselves. When will the workers tell the union bosses they have had enough? If New Zealand does survive the current economic situation they might realise they have to do a fair day’s work for a fair day’s pay, and not bite the hand that feeds them. — Yours, etc.,
• P. J. FLEMING, Leeston. July 20, 1986.
