Global votecatching
Senior British Conservatives will embark on, a round-the-world political barnstorming campaign to capture the votes of the approximately half-a-million Britons living abroad. This follows the announcement by the Home Secretary, Mr Douglas Hurd, of new regulations enabling British citizens now resident abroad, who have lived in the United Kingdom within the last five years, to register as overseas electors. The sudden move by the Conservatives fuels speculation that the Prime Minister, Mrs Margaret Thatcher, may go to the polls as early as June, next year.—London.
