Waterwings Airways is now providing a twicedaily service between Queenstown and Te Anau in conjunction with Newmans Air. The airline was established in December 1982 when Chris Willett bought two floatplanes from the Mount Cook company. Waterwings has two Cessna 207 aircraft based at Queenstown which, together with the floatplanes on Lake Te Anau, are also used for scenic flights and charter work around the Sounds.
