SATIS widens
SATIS (Scientific and Technical Information Service), which has long provided a service to business in Christchurch, is being broadened from the main centres.
The Manager of the National Library’s SATIS unit, Ms Helen Meehan, said clients would pay a tax-deductible fee which would allow unlimited “quick question” services. Research required beyond a specified time limit, however, would be charged for. SATIS had previously served the metropoiitan
centres, but the new service would enable businesses in provincial areas to also have access, she added.
