Top annual report
PA Wellington The 1986 award for the best annual report by a public listed company has been won by Fletcher Challenge, Ltd, the Society of Accountants has announced. The society has presented the annual award since 1956.
There were far more entries than in recent years because the provision of current cost accounts, which had reduced the number of eligible entries, was no longer a requirement The convener of the judging panel, Mr P. M. McCaw, a past president of the Society of Accountants, said that for
various . technical reasons, none of the entries could be described as a perfect set of accounts. “Fletcher Challenge met most of our criteria and their report is an excellent example of the high standards of presentation and communication now being achieved by many public companies,” Mr McCaw said.
