Setting the Royal scene
This week belongs to Prince Andrew and Miss Sarah Ferguson who tie the Royal knot on Wednesday evening. Not only will the wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey be televised live to New Zealand viewers, but there is also a special documentary that tells their story tonight at 8.30 p.m. on One.
“A Royal Romance” is a documentary which takes an intimate look at the lives of this young couple. Written and narrated by a leading British TV journalist, Sandy Gall, this profile programme opens with the announcement of the engagement of Britain’s most eligible and talked-about bachelor, who met his bride-to-be on the polo field.
It follows Prince Andrew’s past life and loves, and his career as a helicopter pilot when he served in the Falklands War.
It also includes details of the family background of his fiancee, known by the press as “Fergie.” It shows how the future Princess Andrew has already been accepted as part of Britain’s Royal family, taking part in the recent celebrations of the Queen’s sixtieth birthday.
And with Prince Andrew giving up bache-lor-hood, the documentary takes a look at the young man about to become Britain’s most eligible bachelor, his younger brother, Prince Edward. The Royal Wedding is televised live on Wednesday, at 10 p.m. on One.
