Redeveloping a theme

Rediscovering photographs in his collection that had never been printed gave Georg Ludwig the idea for an exhibition.

Twice a year the photographer checks his collection of negatives and slides to remove “useless” ones.

After two exhibitions of mainly experimental work since coming to live in Christchurch three years ago, he has decided to show the rediscovered work.

The exhibition opened yesterday at the Photographic Training Centre, where he lectures.

He sees the display as a complement to his planned September exhibition at the C.S.A. Gallery of work done this year.

The training centre show includes landscape, portrait and some experimental work. It will continue until August 1. Georg Ludwig was born in Germany and studied at Cologne University where he majored in experimental photography.

He has had several photographs published and exhibitions in Germany, America, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
