Peter Sweetapple, of the Healing Papanul Club, outsprinted Greg Hume to win the senior 80km club cycling championships at Eyreton last week-end.
In the junior championship, Alex Laplanche got the better of a tactical battle to outlast lan Dickie, while in the veteran event, Alan Hood dominated again. Hood rode away
with laps to go to win easily from Rod Hogarth. Results:— Senior championship: P. Sweetapple, 2hr 12mln 375, 1; G. Hume, 2; P. Cox, 3. Junior championship: A. Laplanche, 2:23.59, I; I. Dickie, 2; S. Donaldson, 3. Veteran championship: A. Hood, 2:17.205, 1; R. Hogarth, 2; R. Craw, 3.
