Sir,—New Zealand must ban the use of 1080 poison. What right have we to inflict such agony on animals which we happen to find inconvenient? Or is it “out of sight, out of mind”? If this is not enough, 1080 is a very persistent poison and, once released into the biological chain, who knows where it ends up?—Yours, etc., HELEN CONSTABLE. July 7, 1986.
