Farming package slated
The Government’s approach to farming has been described as heartless, uncaring and theoretical by the Democratic Party. The party’s Canterbury spokesman, Mr Bill Morgan, said that the Government’s farming package had done nothing to solve the cash-flow problems of farmers.
Debt-servicing problems remained exactly the same as before the package, he said.
Condemning the "relentless pursuit of freemarket policies.” Mr Morgan called on the Government to use Reserve Bank credit to lower interest rates.
