Murder charge

PA Palmerston North A man charged with the murder of a Palmerston

North solo mother had suppression of his name lifted when he appeared in the District Court at Palmerston North yesterday. Reihana Mathew Chase, aged 31, a carpenter, was charged with the murder

of Joanne Te Aroha Warren at Palmerston North on June 21.

Defence counsel, Ms Hendrika Hoogendyk, said she did not seek bail or continuation of name suppression for Chase. Judge Ryan remanded Chase in custody for a preliminary hearing on August 14.
