Camera welfare
Here are some tips for the care of your video camera:
®Do not wind the power cord, camera cable or VCR cable around the body of the camera. If left there for even a couple of days the cable can badly mark the camera.
® Avoid using or storing the camera jn dusty or humid areas.
• Always be careful
not to knock the camera around or drop it. A camera is a very sensitive piece of equipment and easily damaged. • Never point the camera at extreme lights such as the sun as permanent damage can be done to the tube, often burning it out.
® Avoid extreme heat or cold. The recommended operating temperatures can be found in the hand-book with the camera.
® Avoid smokey areas.
• When the camera is not in use, always close the aperture and place the lens cap Into position. • Avoid magnetic fields or using it in the vicinity of a TV set. @ Always turn off the power before making any connections or disconnections.
• Take care when cleaning the outside of the camera, especially if using volatile agents, such as benzine and alcohol thinner, or a chemically treated cloth, as the surface finish of the camera may deteriorate or its coating may peel.
If the camera is turned abruptly during shooting the colour tone may change for a little while, especially on older cameras. This is because of the Earth’s magnetic field, and not a malfunction.
