Its so bad ... its incredible
There is marriage, miscarriage, divorce and a lot of gambling going on in “Return to Eden,” in its penultimate episode at 9.30 p.m. on One. Jilly falls prey to the “Return to Eden” writers’ favourite method of neardeath. Following in the footsteps of her half-sis-ter, Stephanie, who did it at least three times, and Stephanie’s husband, Dan, who only did it once, but did it well, Jilly almost drowns. But luckily for Jilly, she is pregnant to Jake Sanders, and he is more interested in becoming a father than just about anything else. Jake rushes home to save Jilly, later agreeing to marry her. Meanwhile, Stephanie’s daughter, Sarah, declares her love for Tom to her
husband, Angelo. Sharah is pregnant to Tom, but married Angelo when she believed Tom was her half-brother. Angelo has to accept losing his new wife without a fight And Stephanie still searches for the true identity of the son she had as a teen-ager at finishing school, while simultaneously battling in the business world to get her company back from Jake Sanders. In ture Australian style, it looks as if the whole thing will be settled by a high-stakes wager on the Melbourne Cup — the perfect opportunity for Susan Hannaford (Kitty in another Australia soap, “The Sullivans") who designs all the costumes, to produce some really lovely hats. ’
