Tonight is the big night everyone but Ken Barlow has been waiting for — Susan and Mike’s wedding day. ("Coronation Street” on One at 7.30 p.m.). The course of true love has been anything but smooth for Susan Barlow and Mike Baldwin, but their wedding day has finally arrived. Mike has moved into a hotel with his best man and their London friends. Over at his flat Susan and her bridesmaids, Tracy and Jessica, are getting ready for the church. Back at the Barlows’ house in Coronation Street Susan’s twin brother, Peter, is still trying to
persuade their father to go to the wedding. But all Ken will say is, "I don’t want her to marry that man.” Susan and Mike make it to the altar. Susan wears a white satin wedding dress with pink floral trim, and a wreath of white orange blossoms in her hair. Tracy and Jessica are in jade green organza, and Susan’s stepmother, Deidre, is in a navy blue three-piece suit Susan and Mike listen quietly as the vicar reads: “If any man can show any just cause why they may not lawfully be joined together, let him now speak or else hereafter for ever hold his peace ...”
