Derek Kent disqualified
NZPA-AAP Hong Kong The prominent English horse trainer Derek Kent was disqualified from racing for three years after the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club found him guilty of breaching racing rules.
Kent, aged 58, a member of the prestigious race body for four seasons, was among 13 people suspended by the Jockey Club in February following an independent commission against corruption probe into alleged race-
fixing. He later had his licence reinstated. A Jockey Club spokeswoman said the inquiry by club stewards found Kent guilty of 19 allega-' tions; of breaches of the rules of racing. Kent suffered a heart attack earlier this year. He resigned from the Jockey Club last month and announced that he was quitting racing in Hong Kong because of illhealth and returning to England.
