GM N.Z. lift
PA Wellington Unlisted vehicle assembler, General Motors New Zealand, Ltd, has lifted its annual profit before extraordinaries to $14,079,000 ($12,078,000 the previous year) for the year ended December 31. There were no extraordinaries, whereas in 1984 income from the sale of GM’s Petone Plant added
$1,106,000, to make a total 1984 profit of $13,184,000. Sales were slightly down at $234 million ($249 million) but trading profit was well up at $25 million ($16.5 million). Tax was a payment of $8,487,000 (credit of $222,000). GM is a wholly owned subsidiary of the General Motors Corporation of Detroit.
