Advice for knitters
The national Elna Paffap knitting machine demonstrator, Mrs Noella Vause will give free demonstrations and advice at the Elna Sewing Centre, 593 b Colombo Street on Monday and Tuesday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Paf fap brand, which has been recently taken over by Elna in New Zealand, is undergoing major improvements by way of demonstrations, supply and servicing.
“Before Elna took over the brand there were some problems in getting accessories after you bought the machine. Elna have remedied this by .keeping up the supply of spare parts with sales,” said Mrs Jennifer Mcllvoy, the owner of the Elna Centre. Mrs Vause’s visit to the centre is an extension of this "revamp” programme. New accessories to the machine will soon be available through Elna, plus free demonstrations by Mrs Vause on how to use these with the Paffap. The latest Paffap knitting machine model available in New Zealand is the Elna Paffap Duomatic 80. This is the machine which Mrs Vause will be demonstrating on. She will be showing the use of the UBO with the machine — a computer which programs patterns into the Elna Paffap. “The UBO enables the knitter to do harder stitches such as the garter stitch, and lace patterns on the machine,” Mrs Mcllvoy said.
