Child cancer appeal
PA Wellington The Child Cancer Foundation, a small specialist organisation committed to helping children with cancer and their families, has opened an appeal for a $250,000 trust fund. The appeal, with a theme of Caring and Sharing, will run for three months with a variety of fund-raising activities. The chairman of the Foundation, Mr Paul Cressey, said that more’New Zealand children between the ages of 12 months and 14 years died from cancer than any other disease. Statistics showed that one child in every 1000 in New Zealand would be diagnosed as having some form of cancer.
