P.M. to ride in rally

PA Wellington The New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr Lange, will be driven over the first special stage at the start of the seventh round of the world motorrally championship starting in Auckland on July 5. Mr Lange will be outfitted in full race driving gear for the short 2.34 km sealed stage through the Auckland Domain. His driver will be a former New Zealand champion, Auckland’s Jim Donald, who has been leading New Zealander in three international rallies, and won the event in 1981. “We were keen to give the Prime Minister the opportunity to experience first hand what excites millions of people around the world,” said the chairman of the organising committee, Mr Morrie Chandler.
