Public Notices HEATHCOTE COUNTY COUNCIL AMENDMENT TO DIFFERENTIAL RATING NOTICE Is hereby given that at Its meeting on June 26,1986, the Heathcote County Council resolved by way of special order that In accordance with the provisions of Section 148 of the Local Government Act 1974, the present system of rating on a differential basis throughout the district of the County of Heathcote will be amended so that the following percentages of rates required are to be met by the various categories in their respective share: (1) COUNTY WATER RATE Industrial and commercial properties: 12.5 per cent. Rural properties: 10.0 per cent Residential and other properties: 77.5 per cent. (2) COUNTY GENERAL RATES AND PART AD HOC RATES Industrial properties: 155 per cent. Commercial properties: 0.6 per cent. Rural properties: 13.9 per cent. Residential and other properties: 70.0 per cent. Note: The “part ad hoc rates” relate to the Canterbury United Council, Canterbury Museum Board, Christchurch Town Hall, and the administrative rate of the North Canterbury Catchment Board. (3) RATES NOT AFFECTED BY A DIFFERENTIAL Christchurch Transport Board, Christchurch Drainage Board and the separate works rates of the North Canterbury Catchment Board. (4) MULTI-USE PROPERTIES In addition to the above differentials, a further charge of 10 per cent per unit or use In excess of one will apply to all properties. (This provision has particular application to multl-unlt rental properties.) The further charge relates to the County general and water rates. Rates will continue to be levied on the capital value of rateable properties. The differential rating system will come Into force on April 1, 1986. z Details of the group of property to which a particular property will be allocated may be obtained by calling at the Council office, or by writing to the undersigned. NOTE: The amendment to the current differential is to correct an error made In the original approval; as a result of the error, the Industrial, Commercial and Rural sectors would have to meet more than their respective portions based on the 1985/86 rates. Any ratepayer may, at any time after the confirmation of the special order, object to Council In accordance with Section 57 of the Rating Act 1967 against the allocation of a property to a type/group/ sector of property. A copy of the special order, which Includes the statement required under Section 147 A (1) (c) of the Local Government Act 1974, may be Inspected at the Council offices (66 Colombo Street, Christchurch) during normal office hours (8.36 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday to Friday). Notice Is further given that the special order will be submitted for confirmation at a special Council meeting to be held at the Heathcote County Council Chambers, 66 Colombo Street, Christchurch, on Thursday, September 4,1986, commencing at 5 p.m. P.
