Jean Rapier fancied at Wanganui

Cup at the Egmont-Wanganui Hunt Club’s meeting at Wanganui today is down to eight runners, three of them have engagements for the Wellington Steeples next Saturday.

The trio is Region, Koiro Bel Trelay and Thunderchild and, attracting almost as much attention will be Trentham ’chase topweight Kanamint, which will go around on the flat in the Mcßae Bracelet, a race for amateur riders. Region is the best performed of the trio in at Trentham. He is not long back from a trip to Australia. His four starts there brought two wins, one at Flemington and the other at Oakbank. Region has raced once since coming home. He was a distant 11th in the Great Northern.
