Judgeship confirmed
NZPA-AAP Suva A New Zealander, Maurice James Sheehan, has been confirmed as a puisne judge of the Fiji Supreme Court. He had been acting in that capacity since last October. Mr Sheehan, a law graduate of Otago University, was admitted to the Bar in New Zealand in 1962. He was a magistrate in Fiji from 1970 to 1985, acting as Chief Magistrate for short periods. Mr Sheehan is married, with four children.
