Nolan top skipper
Mathew Nolan of the Christchurch Yacht Club, finished as the top P class skipper, when he won the final race of the first series of the winter P class championship, sailed on the Estu-
ary on Sunday in light winds on a shortend course. Nolan finished as the overall winner with 26.0 points from his club-mate and second placegetter, Jeremy Hanlon, skippering Clockwork
Orange on 27.7 points. In the Optimist division, Daniel Jamieson finished a clear winner to clinch the last race and over-all honours. Results.— Race five: P. Class: Echo (M. Nolan) 1; Clockwork Orange (J. Hanlon) 2; Viper (P. Slattery) 3. Over-all results: Nolan 26 points, 1; Hanlon 27.6 pts, 2; Panda (J. Smith), 30.4 pts, 3; Barnacle (A. Rowlands) 36 pts, 4. Optimists: Surfco (D Jamieson) 1. Over-all result Jamieson 1.
