Comic killed
Coluche, France’s leading anti-estabishment comic and an unsuccessful Presidential candidate, has been killed in a motor-cycle accident near the French Riviera town of Grasse. The burly, 41-year-old entertainer died when his motor-cycle and a lorry collided on a country road. Coluche, whose real name was Michel Colucci, delighted in mocking politicians and other well-known figures. He made a highly publicised bid for the French Presidency in 1981, and more recently was a leading campaigner agaisnt racism and a spokesman for the underprivileged.— Grasse.
