Rupe an ‘ambassador’

PA Wellington The blind marathon runner, Tui Rupe, has been made a sports ambassador, said the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Mr Moore, and the member of Parliament for West Auckland, Mr Jack Elder, yesterday. Presenting Rupe with

his ambassadorship at a half-marathon event in Auckland, Mr Elder said the runner’s courage and determination should be an example to all New Zealanders. Rupe will compete in the World Handicapped Games in Stockholm, in August.
