Meredith tops billiards
Dave Meredith, the title-holder, was the top qualifier after section play ended m the Canterbury senior billiards championships at the Cuthbert’s Green rooms yesterday. Meredith, who is chasing his eighth Canterbury billiards title, has recorded the highest break so far with 146. He has
also had a break of 108. Other players to record century breaks were Syd Baker with 110 and Brian Kirkness with 102.
The draw for tomorrow evening’s quarter-final matches is: Meredith v. Wayne Ramsay, Mick Murphy v. Kirkness, Peter de Groot v. Baker, Ray Orsbourn v. Ken Giles.
