Test sales steady

Ticket sales for the New Zealand v. France rugby test at Lancaster Park on Saturday week had been steady, rather than spectacular, said the executive director of the C.R.F.U., Mr Warren Barbarel, yesterday. He said that there were only a few seats left in No. 3 stand, and No. 2 was also fairly full. However, there were plenty of seats still available in No. 1 stand, and also in the

open stands. It was hard to predict, said Mr Barbarel, what the size of the crowd might be. “There are many variables, like how France performs against Australia this week-end, whether people will want to watch an All Black side below full strength and, as always, the weather on the day will influence the numbers on the embankment,” said Mr Barbarel.
