Organiser to quit
The Canterbury regional organiser of the Labour Party, Mrs Kathy Lowe, has announced that she will resign on July 4 for personal reasons. Mrs Lowe became regional organiser in May, 1984, succeeding Mr Ron Simpson. She has also
served as a Christchurch City Councillor since 1980, a position she has already said that she would not be seeking re-election to. Applications for the position of regional organiser will close on June 27.
