Sausages for Canada
PA Wellington New Zealand lamb sausages are set to be introduced into the Canadian market by the New Zealand Lamb Company (North America), .Ltd, which expects them to boost New Zealand lamb sales substantially in Canada. The Toronto-based company has been test mar-
keting a specially spiced lamb sausage for some months and researching and developing the product for almost a year. The company says the initial feedback from consumer research indicates the lamb sausages will be a big sales winner. It is forecasting sales of 11,300 kg a week by the end of the year ancUthe
lamb sausage is expected to increase earnings in Canada 10 per cent in 1986. Despite the disruption in supply caused by the meat industry strike in New Zealand earlier in the season, Canadian sales of New Zealand lamb are still expected to increase between 10 and 15 per cent this year.
