Ryobi in N.Z.
Ryobi has set up its own New Zealand company to import and market its jange of power tools and other hardware. Ryobi New Zealand, Ltd, is looking for an increased share in the estimated $2O million New Zealand power tool market. It had previously been selling into N.Z. through a distributor. The new company will be headquartered in Auckland and will distribute its products from there. Smaller warehouses in other parts of the country are planned for the future. New business
In a period of slow growth in the life insurance industry, Government Life Insurance Corporation attracted 14 per cent more business in the six months ended March 31 compared with the previous corresponding period. The managing director of Government Life, Mr Hutton Peakcock, said new life insurance business totalled $4.4 million. This increase was against the over-all life industry trend of little, if any, growth, he said.
