Woman trapped 3 hours by lift
PA Gisborne Rescue workers last evening freed a woman cleaner who was trapped for three hours with her arms pinned by a service lift in the Gisborne Public Library. The alarm was raised by the woman’s husband who became concerned
when she failed to return home. He went to the library about 7 p.m., saw that she was trapped, and kicked in a door on the first-floor landing, lacerating his feet in the process. He was unable to free her, and so called emergency services. St John ambulancemen, the fire brigade, police, and two doctors worked to free her.
She was finally released at 8.37 p.m.
