$300 for stolen dog
PA Auckland Mr Dick Quax paid $3OO to retrieve his stolen Rottweiler dog from an Otara man, a court heard yesterday. The deal took place in a telephone booth outside Otahuhu College, the District Court at Auckland was told. Victor Lance Waipouri, aged 26, appeared in court on a charge of receiving the stolen dog. unemployed,j!
of Otara, admitted the charge. Judge Hall convicted him and remanded him on bail to July 16 for sentence. Sergeant Graham Crawford said Mr Quax had a telephone call from Waipouri on February 26, five days after the dog went missing. After meeting Waipouri at the boojh, the pair went to an Otara house where the Rottweiler was being held in a caravan, Sergeant Crawford said.
