Badminton lead cut back by 4 points
An 8-0 thrashing of a weakened Hagley I team enabled Air New Zealand to chop four points off Railway’s lead in the A grade club badminton competition, at the Skellerup Hall on Tuesday evening.
While Air New Zealand was completing its whitewash, Railway was struggling to overcome a determined Bryndwr-Y.M.C.A. challenge. The men’s doubles win by Mark Waldin and Geoff Miller gave Railway-a twogame over-all advantage. South Brighton achieved its third win of the competition, against Hagley I, while Christchurch I asserted its superiority over the club's second team, winning 6-2.
