Opposition ‘needs more attempts’
PA Wellington The Opposition would need four more attempts at predicting the electricity price rise before it was close to reality, the Minister of Energy, Mr Tizard, has said. He was commenting on a statement by the Opposition spokesman on energy, Mr Tony Friedlander, on Tuesday that electricity would rise 31 per cent before inflation. Mr Tizard said Mr Friedlander predicted last week that electricity prices would increase 45 per cent. “If he has come down from 45 per cent to 31 per cent with his first two predictions, he will be close to reality after four more predictions,” Mr Tizard said.
