Spades fancied at Auckland

The littermates. Spades and Little Key, appear likely to take a major role in the finish of the Auckland Oaks, first' leg of the T.A.B. double at the Auckland Greyhound Racing Club’s meeting at Claudelands today. Spades has drawn well at box No. 1 and the talented youngster should receive a clear passage in the early rush for positions. Her last outing at Hutt Park on May 26, when she finished last, can be forgotten as she was knocked out of contention at the first bend. Little Key rarely goes a bad race at Claudelands and should be able to improve on recent performances. She has been meeting stronger fields than this one. At the beginning of the season she was regarded by many as the most promising youngster in the country. Olympic Bliss should add to his impressive list of victories this season in the Auckland Derby, second leg of the T.A.B. double. The Waiukutrained dog has won six races on end this season and was an unlucky third last time out at Wellington. Tegimi Tiger will also come in for a lot of support after running second to Lee Moran in the New Zealand Futurity Stakes a fortnight ago.
