Sheffield wins the first round
Sheffield, relegated to senior B midway through last season’s competition, won the first round of this season’s senior A rugby competition in the Ellesmere championship on Saturday.
Leeston, the runner-up after last season’s first round, has been relegated to senior B for the second round. Senior A scores were:— Prebbleton 10, Lincoln 6; Leeston 10, Southbridge 7; Sheffield 9, Darfield 8; Kirwee 12, Burnham 3; Peninsula 12, Dunsandel 7. Lower-grade results:—
