Canterbury B wins

The long unbeaten sequence of Canterbury B rugby league teams was continued at the Show Grounds yesterday when Southland was overwhelmed, 64-14, in a South island second division match.

Canterbury B was ahead by 22-8 at halftime, and rattled up points better than even time in the second spell. It finished with 12 tries against a game opponent that lacked the overall experi-

ence and combination of the home side.

John Griffiths, the fullback, scored three tries for Canterbury B and the other went to Neil Sinclair (two), Kenny O’Brien (two), Phil Cross, Steve Geddis, Glenn Grut, Russell’ Tuuta and Mark Frame. Tony Wildermoth kicked eight goals.

Tries for Southland went to Vaipo Tangimate and Mike Nikara, and Colton Lambert kicked three goals.
