Sneak preview
Violins, cellos, brass — this doesn’t sound like Sneaky Feelings at all, but the band’s guitarist, David Pine, was saying the listeners will find all these instruments on their new album. The Sneakies are more than half-way through their follow-up album, tentatively titled “Coming True,” which is one of the 11 songs intended for the disc. The band has spent more than a fortnight in Mascot Studios, Auckland, working on the new LP, and had in addition used a number of other musicians to help in the complex pieces. Because of the extra string section and brass instruments the album has proved costly. Pine was going to name a figure then changed his mind to say that it has cost "quite a bit” The group has to record

some vocals for some of the tracks plus re-record some “irritating" bits. A total of 13 songs havebeen recorded, but thlsl will cut down to’ 11. The band’s latest single, “Better Than Before,” which has been out for about a week, is not on the album. Pine expects the album' to be released in July and August Sneaky Feelings play at the. Gladstone Tavern tomorrow and Saturday evenings, supported by' another Dunedin band, The Orange. A
