Schools win P.O. grants

Schools in the northern half of the South Island will receive about $37,000 in grants from the Post Office Savings Bank for their participation in school banking last year. The Christchurch district will receive $19,529, Blenheim $4172, Nelson $6769, Timaru $6418, and Westport $468. The Rangiora Borough School had the largest number of deposits in New Zealand. The 14,535 deposits earn the school a grant of $348 to be used for the pupils’ cultural and recreational activities.
