Police name victim of Allandale crash
The Christchurch police yesterday gave the name of the man who died when his car crashed 40 metres down a bank. at Allandale, on the road from Governor’s Bay to Teddington. He was Brian Phillip Edgington, aged 33, a jeweller, of Selwyn Street, Spreydon.
The police are trying to trace the movements of
Mr Edgington, who was last seen alive at his home about 6.30 p.m. on Saturday. Sergeant Bob Brickmann, of the Christchurch police inquiry office, said that Mr Edgington apparently left home on Saturday evening for a date with a woman.
The police would like to hear from the woman or anyone else who had seen
Mr Edgington since Saturday evening. He drove a blue Triumph 2000 car. Mr Edgington’s wrecked car was found down a bank by a jogger at Allandale on Tuesday. It had apparently failed to take a bend and overturned as it went down the bank.
The body of Mr Edgington was lying beside the car.
