Natural slate popular
The only trend to outlive all the other whims that designers may have had is the aesthetic appeal of natural wood and slate for flooring and paving. Firth have just brought slate flooring back successfully and although it is not a new idea, it is, nevertheless a novel one for many home owners. Although the traditional grey and black tones are still represented in the Firth range of slates,
there are also the more exciting flecks of golden mica, quartzite, greens, aquamarines, reds and metallic blues in the Firth slate range. The slate tiles present no working problems as there is an informative guide outlining the techniques, materials and tools for the skilled home handyperson to follow. If this does not suit, your local Firth Centre can recommend a skilled tradesman to lay your
slate for you. Slate is not only attractive but for maintenance, it resists wear and fits into any type of setting.
In a sunroom it becomes a passive solar radiator, giving back the warmth it has absorbed from the sun during the day.
Used in bathrooms, kitchens, patios, courtyards and living areas it adds that subtly stated hint of luxury that belongs to few other flooring materials.
