Jacket clue eliminated

PA Auckland The police have lost their most promising lead in the search for the attacker of a young West Auckland woman, Kim Jones, aged 18. The discovery of a white jacket discarded in bush was seen as possibly the first tangible link police had with the man who stabbed his victim six times behind a Massey bus stop more than three months ago. However the owner of the jacket, which was identified by Miss Jones as similar to one worn by her attacker, has been traced and eliminated from the inquiry.
