Rigger plans to sue

PA Whangarei A rigger, Mr John Doran, plans to sue the Marsden Point refinery expansion project builder for allegedly blacklisting him. An Auckland industrial relations lawyer, Mr John Haigh, acting for Mr Doran and another rigger also allegedly blacklisted, said he planned to file papers in the High Court

within 10 days. The action against Marsden Refinery Constructors will allege conspiracy, incitement to breach a contract, and interference in the two riggers’ economic rights. Mr Haigh would not say how much in damages the pair would seek. He also has yet to decide whether to file the action in the High Court at Whangarei or Auckland.
