Bealey Avenue
Sir,—The Christchurch City Council wants to improve traffic flow by widening a section of Bealey Avenue, at the same time closing off Springfield Road to homebound residents. In the three years I have lived |n Bealey Avenue, traffic has been interrupted by council work and unco-ordinated traffic lights. My rates are a significant portion of the value of my property and I can no longer afford this council’s increasing expenditure. There will soon be a “for sale” sign on my property. The council can have its share when a sale occurs. It will probably need the rest to survive GST.—Yours, etc., ANDREW WALSH. May 11, 1986.
