Nescafe Steeples
The Great Northern Steeplechase, the richest event over brush fences in New Zealand and Australia, will be known from this year as the Nescafe Steeplechase. The change has been made to acknowledge a long term 'sponsorship commitment from Nescafe New Zealand Ltd, the makers of Nescafe, Auckland Racing Club President, Dr Calvin Ring, said in a statement The race will be run at Ellerslie on June 2 and will carry a stake of sls^oo.— (PA).
