A member of the McLeans Island Golf Club, Peter Thomson, receives a good deal of ribbing at times because his name is the same as that of the Illustrious Australian professional, the winner of five British Opens among his many significant wins. But if the McLeans Island Peter Thomson, on a modest 20 handicap, has yet to claim a British Open he can at least boast a hole-in-one among his achievements. That came on Saturday at the 124 m par-three second hole. Thomson hit a No. 7 iron for his first ace and it was the first at the club this year.
