“Barb and Obi,” a gouache painting by Diana Curtis of Freeman’s Bay, which won the top award of $3000 in this year’s Montana Lindauer Art Award Exhibition. The awards were announced by Sir Michael Fowler, the chairman of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council at the Gisborne Museum and Arts Centre on Tuesday evening. Second prize of $2000 was awarded to Peter Waddell, of Auckland, with “The Mason’s Daughter” Third prize went to Gail Burrows, of Pukekohe, who received $1000 for “La Piscine II.” The exhibition will stay at Gisborne until May 25, and will then travel throughout the country.
